We are currently scaling our highly-experienced team in London and have the following vacancies.

About Unbound

At Unbound, we design and build the key technologies that enable the emerging In-Orbit Servicing, Assembly and Manufacturing (ISAM) ecosystem – cameras, sensors, and processing units that let spacecraft inspect, repair, and extend the life of satellites already in space. We are a small and highly-experienced team solving some of the hardest problems in the space industry.

Our aim is to enable great people to move fast: quick to hardware, quick to testing, quick to orbit!

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager with a strong technical background to lead complex space payload development programmes from bid through to delivery and in-orbit operations. You will be the single point of accountability for your programmes – owning schedule, budget, technical performance, and the customer relationship. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, direct subcontractor activities, and make the day-to-day decisions that determine whether hardware gets to orbit on time.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Work hands-on with hardware that goes to orbit,
  • Make decisions that shape our products from day one,
  • Work alongside a highly experienced, cross-disciplinary team,
  • Build hardware, test it and learn in fast iterations,
  • Enjoy a modern central London office with flexible hybrid working options.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee our most complex space development programs, ensuring delivery of cutting-edge hardware to orbit within budgets and project timelines,
  • Forge and cultivate strong, lasting relationships with our customers and partners, building trust through consistent communication and effectively demonstrating Unbound’s unique value proposition and technical capabilities,
  • Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary internal team, aligning engineers toward shared objectives while fostering a culture of accountability,
  • Select, evaluate, and monitor subcontractor and supplier activities to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the supply chain and deliverables meet our needs,
  • Actively support bid preparation efforts and contribute to securing new business opportunities,
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor team members as Unbound scales.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience across most phases of space programs, from concept through operations, with proven ability to navigate complex technical and programmatic challenges,
  • Strong technical background within the space industry, with good knowledge of spacecraft systems, ground segments and operations activities,
  • Highly organised, independent, and proactive working style with the ability to manage competing priorities and drive initiatives forward without constant supervision,
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels, capable of translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences including senior managers, customers, and technical teams.

Don’t meet every requirement? Apply anyway. We’d rather talk to someone with the right curiosity and drive than pass on a great candidate. If this role excites you, we want to hear from you.

What Unbound Offers

  • 25 days of annual holiday plus a dedicated office shutdown period between Christmas and New Year,
  • Benefits such as medical, dental, and life insurance,
  • Hybrid working model with a balanced expectation of 3 days in the office per week,
  • Annual training budget that you personally control, allowing you to invest in professional development, certifications, or learning opportunities aligned with your career goals.
